     As a pro illustrator I have used various painting software, such as Painter and Photoshop, both of which carry a hefty price-tag.  Great then to discover one with a lot of the features of those but with a much lower the price tag.

    I now use ArtRage regularly for early sketching and have taken pro pieces to finish in it.  It makes a great intro package for those starting out into digital and/or on a tight budget.

    A major factor in AR’s value for money is the fact that the creative team behind it don’t spend on advertising, relying on word of mouth instead.  As one of the growing band of happy ArtRage users, I’m delighted to be able to recommend  it based on personal experience.  With a next generation version due out some time in the coming months, offering enhanced tools and performance, this is definitely a software to keep your eye on.

    New version 3 is out and more powerful than ever.  Definitely worth a look.
